Carved from the heart of the Templum Astrorum , this medal unites the face of Sol, burning with a golden radiance, with that of Luna, bathed in a silvery clarity. It is said that the priests of heaven enclosed within it the balance of dies and nox , so that whoever wears the Sol and Luna finds both the vigor solis (strength of the sun) and the placiditas lunae (serenity of the moon). At the summer solstice, it captures the last rays of the day; at the autumn equinox, it reflects the first night crescent.
